August, 25, 2009 Remembering 9/11 with Patriotic Songs (By Ginny Spillman) and Ginny's one woman show of the music of Patsy Cline

Once again the Shelby County Fairgrounds will be the scene of another fun night of racing on Saturday, Sept 12.  Race fans will want to come early as several unique vehicles will be on display behind the grandstand.  Shelbyville's D.A.R.E. Officer, Floyd Hastings will have the three D.A.R.E. vehicles, including a vintage police car on display.  A tiller wheel firetruck that was in service in New York on 9-11 will be on display in addition to the VUMTQL Show Truck.

Music once again will fill the historic grandstand as Ginny Spillman will present her one woman show of the music of Patsy Cline.  Ms. Spillman has sung the National Anthem at race tracks across the U.S. and Canada.  Ginny travels around the U.S singing and speaking at churches and women's groups.  She is an award winning actresss who is very active in Community Theater and this past spring starred in her one woman show as Patsy Cline.

Prior to the Duel for Fuel, Ginny will perform some patriotic songs before the National Anthem and during the racing program she will present two mini concerts of Patsy Cline music.

We will also welcome the employees of Jackson Oil and Solvents, the sponsor of the Duel for Fuel
