Columbus, Indiana’s Matt Arrington became the sixth driver in MTQRL history to score back-to-back feature wins when the Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com competed at the Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Ind.
Arrington, driving Terry Minor’s #76X Claas Lubricants, Columbus Hose & Fittings, Drain Master, Miller Trucking, X-Tream Clean Products, Precision/Honda three-quarter midget took the lead from his pole position at the start of the feature and went on to lead all twenty-five laps over Ronnie Combs, Logan Arnold, Cody Kiewitt and Tate Martz. Kevin Blue, Nick Speidel, Tristan Maggart, Paul Graybrook and Jon Steed completed the top ten. Tyler Wooten was the highest finishing rookie driver in eleventh place and was named the Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Race.
The Duane & Sonja Alexander Hard Luck Driver award was presented to Kyle May who experienced engine problems in practice and was unable to compete, and Terry Minor won the drawing for the Jackson Oil & Solvents gift certificate.
Nick Speidel passed eight cars in the feature and was named the Indy Race Parts Hard Charger, and Perfect North Slopes heat winners were Matt Arrington, Ronnie Combs and Tate Martz.
Cody Kiewitt continues to lead the season point standings over Matt Arrington (-18), defending MTQRL champion Nick Speidel (-61), Tate Martz (-91), and Logan Arnold (-105).
The next race on the MTQRL schedule will be Saturday August 16th at the Montpelier Motor Speedway.
