On Saturday January 26th the Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com released their 2013 preliminary race schedule at the Indy Circle Track Expo.
Greg Staab, the MTQRL’s Director of Racing Operations, has been working hard to compile a varied schedule comprising both tracks that are favorites of the MTQRL drivers, owners and fans along with a couple of new venues.
The MTQRL is pleased to announce five races at the Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Ind. Montpelier has hosted many three-quarter midget races since it reopened in 1986 but 2013 will be the MTQRL’s first visit to the quarter mile clay oval. The five Montpelier dates are spread throughout the season with the first date May 11th and the final show scheduled for Labor Day weekend on August 31st.
Another new venue for the MTQRL will be Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. Promoter Joe Spiker has revitalized the 5/16 mile clay oval and has scheduled the MTQRL three-quarter midgets for two nights on July 13th and July 18th. The 13th will be a traditional Saturday night Lincoln Park show and the 18th will be Thursday night of USAC’s Indiana Sprint Week. The MTQRL is very excited to be a part of the Sprint Week program and we look forward to showcasing our close and competitive, side-by-side brand of three-quarter midget racing in front of the large crowd that will be on hand.
Returning venues include the Morgan County Fair in Martinsville, Ind. (moved from a midweek program to Friday night), Funfest at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Ind., and dates at both the Shelby and Rush County Fairgrounds.
Since not all of the Indiana tracks have released their schedules the MTQRL schedule is not complete at this time. Staab is still in negotiations for eight additional dates at Shelbyville, Madison and other tracks and the final schedule is to be released at the Pre Season Meeting on March 16th.
