On Saturday evening September 25th the Midwest TQ Racing League™ presented by Vincennes University will close their season with “Fan Appreciation Day” at the Rush County Fairgrounds in Rushville, Ind.
This race will be held in conjunction with RushFest which is scheduled in downtown Rushville between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. There will be a variety of activities including a parade scheduled for noon in which several MTQRL competitors have planned to participate.
RushFest will conclude that afternoon at the fairgrounds with “Fan Appreciation Day.” In addition to the MTQRL three quarter midget race there will also be a vintage car display and on track exhibition by the Midwest Oldtimers Vintage Race Car Club. The Rushville High School marching band will also be on hand to provide music during the intermissions.
That evening the MTQRL will also be hosting a food drive to benefit the Rush County Community Assistance Food Pantry. In only its second year the food pantry has served over 800 different families with August their busiest month to date. Volunteers will be at the track accepting cash and non-perishables which includes packaged, boxed and canned items and toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toilet paper, etc.).
The MTQRL TQ’s, including 2010 champion Tate Martz of Rushville, are scheduled to hit the track for practice at 5:00 pm followed by qualifications at 6:00 pm and racing 7:00 pm. With a donation to the food pantry tickets are only $5.00 while children 6 and under are free.
