July, 16, 2010 Jason Knoke Wins at Madison

 

On Friday evening the Midwest TQ Racing LeagueTM presented by Vincennes University competed at the Jefferson County Fair in Madison, Ind., and former TQ champion Jason Knoke scored his first MTQRL win.

Knoke took the lead from polesitter Craig Eaglin at the drop of the green flag and led the first 11 circuits before Jason Willis (who had won three straight features on the fairgrounds oval) took over the point. Willis led through lap 17 before Nick Speidel got by for the lead. Speidel's lead was short lived as Knoke regained the top spot on lap 19. Knoke went on to lead the final 7 laps to win over Kyle Lux, Tate Martz, CJ Leary and Speidel.

Martz set quick time with a lap of 15.629 seconds and Willis won the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel. Heat winners were Knoke, Lux and Speidel.

Lux's second place finish, a career best, earned him the INOX Slick Move of the Race. Leary was the highest finishing rooke and was named the Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Race. Another rookie, Caleb Faulkner, suffered mechanical difficulties in hot laps and was unable to compete. Faulkner's misfortunes earned hiim the Duane & Sonja Alexander Hard Luck Driver award. Martz passed five cars in the feature and received the Ward's Apparel Hard Charger award. $50 gift certificates were won by CJ Leary (Jackson Oil & Solvents) and Craig Eaglin (Ward's Apparel).
