July, 03, 2010 Jason Willis Wins at Shelbyville

Jason Willis of Lawrenceburg, Ind. won his second feature of the season on Saturday evening when the Midwest TQ Racing League™ presented by Vincennes University competed at the Shelby County Fair in Shelbyville, Ind.

Rookie CJ Leary started the 25-lap feature on the outside front row taking the lead at the drop of the green flag. Leary led the first three circuits before giving way to Bobby Walton. Willis, who had started in tenth position, steadily worked his way through the field and got by Walton on lap thirteen. Willis led the final thirteen laps to score the victory over Tim Lynch, Tate Martz, Walton and Leary.
Martz set quick time with a lap of 18.012 seconds and Willis won the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel. Heat winners were Kenny Byrge, Caleb Faulkner, Martz, Lynch and Willis.
Willis passed nine cars en route to his feature win and was named the Ward’s Apparel Hard Charger. Leary was the Tony Stewart Rookie of the Race, Tim Lynch made the INOX Slick Move of the Race and Nick Speidel was the Duane & Sonja Alexander Hard Luck Driver.
